Everything’s Coming Up Funtime
One month ago, I was in a very different place than I am today.
One month ago:
- I didn’t think my senior project movie would get finished well, or on time.
- My post-graduatin job prospects weren’t looking great.
- I had no idea how I was going to handle the debt I’ve accumluated over the last two years.
- I was completely, totally, desperately flat broke. I was using rent money to buy train tickets to my internship.
- I thought I was going to fail two classes and not graduate on time.
- I had absolutely no time for anything except school and work.
- I wasn’t having any fun, and was worrying all the time.
Within the past two weeks:
- My movie got finished, on time, and I’m immensely proud of it.
- I have an excellent-looking job prospect doing exactly what I want to do, in New York City no less.
- I’ve developed a plan to handle my debt and I’ll finally be able to talk with friends and family about things other than the money I owe them.
- I’ve gotten two full-time offers for good-paying summer jobs, and the post-graduation-family-and-close-friends-congrats money has started to come in.
- I passed all my classes, got much higher grades than I expected, and walked at graduation with absolutely no possiblity of having to come back to the academic hellhole called college.
- I’ve been able to spend more time doing the things that I want to do, with the people I want to spend time with.
- I’m doing lost of fun things, and also, Senior Week happened. Oh god was that fun.
