Archie® in…A Different ClassWow this is two things I love. If I ever have a daughter I am fighting to name her Veronica. I really wish I could say it was after Mars or the Elvis Costello song, but my love for the name really comes from Veronica Lodge.
I first discovered William Shatner’s albume Has Been while I was DJing at WTSR in college, and after my first listen of this song (his cover of Pulp’s “Common People”), made damn sure that I downloaded the whole album and recommended it to everyone I ever spoke to about it. Most people laugh when I tell them about it, but I stand by it. It’s produced by Ben Folds and features a number of other people. His song with Henry Rollins is my favorite- it’s the two of them ranting about the kinds of people that irritate them. It careens all over the place, with standard Shatner bravado- from touchingly sentimental to raucous and obnoxious.
Get it.
